This summer is proving that when it comes to stars at the box office, it's the right fit and the movie that matter more than their wattage. "She's definitely becoming a star, but this movie had a lot of things going for it," said Exhibitor Relations VP and senior analysts Jeff Bock. He cited the legitimately funny script, McCarthy's chemistry »

There will be a sequel to Mark Burnett's successful miniseries "The Bible," but it won't be on the History Channel. Instead, it's moving from the minors to the majors: Burnett and NBC are forging a holy alliance to bring the sequel to the peacock. The sequel, which bears the working title "A.D.: Beyond the Bible," follows the enormously popular 10-part miniseries "The Bible," which drew a huge audience to History earlier this year and is a likely Emmy contender. It should be noted that Burnett executive produces NBC's hit singing competition "The Voice." The »

Ratings: 'Anna Nicole' Lures 3.3 Million Total Viewers for Lifetime
2 hours ago
The Lifetime Anna Nicole Smith biopic "Anna Nicole" performed well for Lifetime, drawing 3.3 million total viewers with its initial airing on Saturday. That puts the biopic, which stars "Private Practice" actress Agnes Bruckner as the ill-fated model/actress, in pretty good company for Lifetime movies. "Anna Nicole" drew slightly more than the 3.1 million total viewers that "Dirty Little Secret: The Jodi Arias Story" grabbed in June, but slightly less than the 3.5 million total viewers that last-year's much-hyped "Liz & Dick" biopic, which starred Lindsay Lohan as the screen legend, »
